Streamline Pick-Pack-Ship

Picking, packing, and shipping are the three main components of order fulfillment. It’s important to have all three of these components as streamlined as possible.

Drilling down into each of these separately will allow you to find things you can do to improve each by itself (organizing the warehouse for picking, easily setting up boxes, etc.). However, there’s one thing you can do to help all three of these at once:

Combining your shipping forms onto a single sheet of paper.

What would that do?

Picking – All of the picking information would be on one sheet
Packing – Picking information and shipping label are on the same sheet; no need to try to match them
Shipping – The shipping label stays with the picking information and can be easily peeled out and affixed to the box without glue or tape

How do you get started streamlining your pick-pack-ship system?

Start by analyzing your pick-pack-ship system to see which shipping forms you can combine onto a single sheet. Then look for a shipping label sheet layout that would best compliment your system. If you can’t find one, you can always design your own shipping label sheet.
