How To Make Your Own Membership Cards with a Welcome Letter.

From high school clubs to colleges to neighborhood pools to horse associations, there are a lot of memberships being passed around. If you’re responsible for memberships in your club you know that a lot of work can go into it just for new members:

• Insert new members into your database
• Create a welcome letter
• Send the welcome letter
• Create a membership card (or two)
• Send the membership card
• Follow up with the new members to make sure they got their card

You can save some time by printing the new membership card and letter on the same sheet. In this post we’ll walk you through printing a membership card and letter for new members for a fake country club called “The Great Zebra.”

We’ll be using the Printable Membership/ID Card Scored (MC-Peel-IL-Scored) for this example because it gives us a nice, smooth paper with scores for easy folding. For the membership card template we’ll use the MC-Peel-IL blank membership card template for Microsoft Word®.

1. Download the membership card template.

The first step is to download the blank membership card template. Click the green Download button to the right to download your template.

2. Open the membership card template in Microsoft Word®.

Open the template in Microsoft Word®; some may have opened automatically.

3. Design your membership cards!

It’s now time to start designing your membership cards! For this example we will be using Clip Art but you should definitely integrate your logo and business colors into the design.

4. Print your membership card and welcome letter.

Print time already? Yep! That didn’t take too long now did it? Check to make sure that your membership card can be printed on a laser/inkjet; some products can only be printed on one or the other. Here’s a quick guide:
MC-Perf-PH: Laser and Inkjet Guaranteed
MC-Perf-PH-1UP: Laser and Inkjet Guaranteed
MC-Peel-IL: Laser Only, both sides printable
MC-Peel-IL-Scored: Laser Only, both sides printable
MC-Perf-GL: Laser Only
MC-Perf-GI: Inkjet Only

Because we used the MC-Peel-IL-Scored in this example, we’ll be printing on a laser printer. Here’s how ours turned out:
