Q: We have a printer that is not listed in your chart. How do I know if my printer can handle your products?

A: If your printer is not listed, please contact us, and we would be happy to look it up for you and add it to our database. In the meantime, you can consult your printer’s manual to see the maximum paper weight. We list the weight of our products in GSM.  Our Paper Weight Comparison Chart can be cross-referenced based on the way your printer manufacturer expresses the paper weight.

Paper weight is often measured in cover, index, text, bond, tag, bristol or gsm.  This is determined by measuring the weight of a certain quantity of sheets of paper. Paper weight may be expressed as basis weight, ream weight, M weight or grammage.

Help! My shipping label sheets aren’t feeding properly.

by Raki Wright | Last Updated October 11, 2010

Q: The shipping label sheets forms I ordered don’t feed properly. I have tried them either direction. The text that is supposed to print in the peel off section is never where they it’s supposed to be.  My printer has always printed in the proper position on regular paper. Any suggestions?

A: This type of problem usually occurs because of the settings on your printer.

You need to check the “media type” under “preferences” on your printer, specifically to see what paper types your printer will handle.

For instance, my inkjet printer has a setting that says “plain” paper and another setting that says “thick plain” paper.

The thick plain paper is what I have to set my printer to in order for the sheets to “feed” properly. Setting your printer to print on a heavier paper should do the trick!

Which of the matte post cards would work best in a color printer?

by Raki Wright | Last Updated October 4, 2010

It really depends on your application and printer as to which postcard would be best for you.  The first thing is that you need to make sure that your printer will support the paper weight of the postcards, by checking our “find your paper” tool .  If your printer is not listed, please contact us, and we would be happy to look it up for you and add it to our database.

If you are looking to just print color text or simple graphics you may like the 4KS (standard white) postcards.  However, if you want to use photographs or high resolution images you may like the 4KPL (premium light) or 4KP (premium heavy) postcards, as they have a smoother brighter white finish that looks better with graphics or photographs.

Produce one-of a kind postcards from your digital pictures

by Raki Wright | Last Updated September 29, 2010

Q: I want to produce one-of a kind postcards from the thousands of digital pictures I’ve taken to mail to my friends, family and associates. Should I be using your glossy cut, middleweight cut or heavy matte for this purpose? Also does the free program I see you offer have an address template on it for the reverse side of the postcard?

A: If you are looking to print photographs on the single cards I would recommend either the 4x6P or 4x6G depending on what you prefer. The 4x6P is our premium heavy white matte postcard which is good for photographs and has a nice smooth matte finish. Our 4x6G is glossy for laser printers which has a high gloss finish which looks really good with photos. Both of these cards are good for photographs, it is just whether you prefer a glossy or matte finish for your images.

The available templates are completely blank to where you can customize them yourself. Please visit our how to page that can help you create your card.
