Printing costs: Does font make a difference?

by Raki Wright | Last Updated April 13, 2010

According to Which?, changing fonts can help you print 27% more pages.

“Times New Roman, Calibri and Century Gothic were the top three when it came to efficient ink use – all three produced more than 20% more pages than Arial.”

The diameter for the circle on our Create-n-Hang Door Hangers™ – Three Per Page – Punch Out Circle (Item#DH3UP-POC-Std) is 1.25”.

This is a common question we receive about our templates.

If you right click near the cursor and select cell alignment it will show you some options, one of which is ‘align top left’ if you click that option it will move your cursor to the upper left of the postcard.

By the Note Card template going one way and the Note Cards another do you mean the orientation (landscape vs. portrait)?  If so, you may try one of two things: 1) see if you can turn the paper around and feed it through the printer in the other direction (i.e. if inserting top first try putting it in sideways), 2) if that doesn’t work try changing the orientation of the template, change from portrait to landscape.

Will color ink show up on your color products?

Depending on your printer, the colored ink can do fairly well on colored paper.  If you would like to do a test print, you may request samples, before purchasing.

Which door hanger style should I use in my printer?

by Raki Wright | Last Updated April 6, 2010

Create-n-Hang Door Hangers™ – Punch Out Circle are for laser printers only, as the missing hole can cause problems in inkjet printers.    Door hangers with Tags and cards are offered in the Punch Out Circle style, which only work in laser printers.

Create-n-Hang Door Hangers™ – Die Cut X – Three Per Page and Create-n-Hang Door Hangers™ – Die Cut X – Two Per Page will work in both laser and inkjet printers.   There may be a slightly smaller chance of jams using a laser printer.  UPDATE – These products are no longer available

Create-n-Hang Door Hangers™ – Perfed X – Three Per Page and Create-n-Hang Door Hangers™ – Perfed X – Two Per Page work in both laser and inkjet printers.  Be sure to verify the printer will support the cardstock weight, using our Find Your Paper tool.  Most of the door hangers are around 165 gsm, except for the styles with the tags orcards and the Punch Out Circle Glossy Heavy for Laser Printers, which are 216gsm.

The perfed and punched out circles are probably the most universal, in that they can be used on nearly every style door knob.  The ‘X’ style in more secure, less likely to get blown off the door but will only work on know style or open handle door knobs, will not work on some screen doors that have the closed handle.

We have different grade of paper for each of our postcard layouts.

The Four-of-a-Kind Postcards™ are available in lightweight through heavyweight grades.  The paper weights range from 125 gsm to 219 gsm.  (What is gsm?)

The Print On Demand Jumbo Postcards™ are available in standard through premium grades.  The paper weights range from 147 gsm to 219 gsm.  (What is gsm?)

The Print On Demand Single Postcards™ are available in middleweight through premium grades.  The paper weights range from 176 gsm to 216 gsm.  (What is gsm?)

Use our Find Your Paper tool, to determine which paper weights your printer can handle.

by Raki Wright | Last Updated April 2, 2010

At this time, we do not sell any envelopes made from recycled content as a stock item.  Please call us the size, style, and color desired at 1-800-982-3676 or email us for a price quote.  There would be a minimum of 2,500 envelopes.

Do you carry rolls of labels?

by Raki Wright | Last Updated April 1, 2010

We only carry label sheets.  Printing your own labels is easy, using your own computer and printer.  It is much more efficient to print your packing slip or invoice on the same sheet as your shipping label.  Therefore, no matching is required.  Or, you can save time by printing full sheets of address, mailing, or shipping labels.
