Is your tri-fold paper scored?

by Raki Wright | Last Updated March 31, 2010

Yes.  The tri-fold brochures have two scores and tri-fold mailers have one score and one perforated line.  A score results when paper is compressed along a straight line so it folds more easily and accurately. It is sometimes called a crease.  A perforation, sometimes called a perf, indicates a line of small dotted holes for the purpose of tearing-off a part of a printed matter (usually straight lines, vertical or horizontal).  A micro-perforation, sometimes called a micro-perf, is a perforation that results in the cleanest edge possible, after tearing.

Question:  “Do your 4 up postcards have a regular perf or micro perf? I don’t want the tear kind.  I want the easy breakaway.”
