Print Your Own Hotel or Motel Do Not Disturb Door Hanger Signs

Do Not Disturb signs for hotels and motels are not only an easy way for your customers to let you know they don’t need housekeeping services, but they’re also a way for you to make your hotel or motel stick in your customer’s mind. By printing your own door hangers you can print them with unique designs, verbiage, styles, etc.

You can also print out new ones whenever you need them and you don’t have to be strapped in by your printing company’s “minimum print quantity.” Simply buy your door hangers in bulk and then print as many as you need, whenever you need them.

Here are some ways you can make your Do Not Disturb door hangers unique and memorable!

Different Seasons

If your hotel or motel is open year round, don’t forget to wish your customers happy holidays in the Winter and rejoice with them during the Summer vacation months. You can use season-themed cartoons or photographs to make the door hangers unique and interesting.

Your customers can use the excuse that they’re “hibernating” in the Winter and don’t want to be disturbed and then in the Summer you can change up the door hangers to say they’re working on their tan and don’t want to be disturbed.

New Local Attractions

Letting new local attractions and restaurants advertise on the bottom of your Do Not Disturb sign is a win-win for all. It helps your customer by letting them know about a new place in town they can check out, it helps the new attraction or restaurant advertise locally, and it helps you when the local businesses start telling others about how well advertising with you works!

Not all of your customers are going to come into town with ever single place they want to eat planned out on an itinerary. Help them out by letting one or two local restaurants advertise on the bottom or back of your do not disturb door hangers.

Clever or Witty Do Not Disturb Signs

Having clever or witty hotel or motel signs can get you a lot of good attention! ABC News did a spotlight of 20 creative, clever, and witty do not disturb signs. If you can make your customers smile or laugh with a clever do not disturb sign, they’re memory of their stay with you will be that much better.

Breakfast Info for Different Floors

It’s always a good idea to let your customers know about your complementary services! You can let people know where they’ll be able to find breakfast in the morning or let them know that you don’t serve breakfast on the back of your do not disturb sign. (If you don’t serve breakfast, it’d be very nice of you to direct your customers to the nearest breakfast-oriented restaurant!)

If you have multiple floors, quick directions about which floor the breakfast room will be on and how to find it would help your customers get around your building. Have multiple breakfast rooms for different floors? Let your customers know!

Different Colors for Different Messages

Even if someone doesn’t want their bed made they still may need more towels! Your housekeeping staff is busy and might not have the time to stop to examine every sign to see what the customer needs. By color coding each need the housekeeping staff can quickly and easily identify which room needs what service.

You can color code your door hangers a couple different ways:

Print different full color ink on them
Put colored stickers on them
Print the text different colors
OR use different door hanger colors

It’s a lot less expensive to buy blank door hangers of different colors than it is to spend a ton of money on the ink to print blue all over a white door hanger!
