When you send out an Every Door Direct Mail campaign you need to bundle your mailers in groups of 50 or 100 with a facing slip on each bundle. Depending on how many routes you’re mailing to you could have anywhere between 2 to 100 different bundles, each with their own facing slip.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re a small or large business, filling out 50 different facing slips with mostly the same information doesn’t sound very appealing. Here are some tips and tricks for filling out EDDM facing slips.
You may have had your fights, but that’s all in the past. For the task of getting all of your EDDM facing slips filled out quickly you will be the best of friends. Fill out all of the static information you’ll need (date, zip code, total number of boxes, company name etc.). If you have multipe routes you’ll need to do one of these for each route.
Once you have all of your static information filled out it’s time to visit your BFF. Copy each route page for as many bundles as you have going to each route. If you have 8 bundles for the route, create 7 copies. Now that you have all 8 of your facing slips for that zip code, the last thing you’ll need to do is write which bundle of the total each is (1 of 8, 2 of 8, etc.)
Here’s an example of all the static information you can write on the facing slip before copying:
When you sign up for EDDM online you can download a facing slip with some of your EDDM facing slip information already filled out on it: Zip code, route number, Delivery Type, and Post Office of Mailing. While this helps a little bit (it’ll create a page in the PDF for each zip code and route number you’ll need), you’ll still want to finish filling out the rest of the information by hand and make some copies with your best friend, Copier.
