3 Ways Car Dealers Can Benefit From Print-Your-Own!

This is the second installment of our new bi-monthly segment on how Print-Your-Own can benefit you. We’ve got quite a few car dealerships that use several of our products so hopefully their experience will be useful!

When to use postcards

There are quite a few instances where dealerships want to reach out to either their entire customer base or reach out to an entire area to look for prospective customers and expand their customer base. Both of those needs are exactly what postcard marketing was built for. I’m going to start by sharing our direct feedback from one long time dealership customer and we’ll elaborate from there.

Jill McSheehy says:

“We use the standard and jumbo postcards for sales and service related promotions with Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Word. I continue to use you because of the competitive price and the ease of ordering and shipping. You guys have always been good at checking up on me to see if I need anything without “hassling” like some companies do. We have found that postcards are more economical and have a better response than letters, which is why we continue to use them.”

We definitely appreciate Jill’s kind words about our service and you’ll note she is a fan of using either Word or Photoshop to design her cards, depending on the detail of the designs. Word is not built for graphics or text manipulation and you’ll find yourself more frustrated than anything else if you try to create complex designs in it. Photoshop, while it can have a steeper learning curve, can do anything you’d ever imagined with images or text alike.

The two items she mentioned that they utilize the most were our standard postcards (Four-Of-A-Kind (4up) Postcards) and our jumbo postcards (Jumbo (2up) Postcards). The difference between them is just the sizing. As the name would imply you get four identical postcards from the standard Four-Of-A-Kind postcards and from the Jumbo’s you get two postcards that are twice the size. They both come in the same wide variety of colors, weights, and optional glossy finish. The size is a personal preference on how much attention you desire to grab. How are these postcards useful to my business’

1. Scheduled Maintenance

Every dealer sends out maintenance reminders and Four-Of-A-Kind or Jumbo postcards are a great cost effective way to do that for your current customers.

2. Promotions

As Jill mentioned at Cogswell they use our postcards to alert customers of promotions in line with their maintenance programs. This is also something very easily and cost effectively done through whatever size postcard you prefer to use.

3. Canvasing local neighborhoods

This is where a larger postcard or mailer may become more ideal. As a dealership you’re generally going to service one or several local areas. Through EDDMs (Every Door Direct Mailers) you can easily canvas an entire zip code and advertise to your prospective customers any promotions, events, etc. This is a service provided by the USPS and it’s always a good idea to contact your local Post Office ahead of time and verify any questions to make sure your advertising can run smoothly.
