Wondering how to measure how successful your postcard campaign is? Ask!
This is a follow up to our previous post about improving your postcard marketing and picks up where we left off at evaluating your results.

The one thing people seem to overlook the most is to simply ask. Prospects and customers will likely be happy to tell you how they heard about you or what drew them to you (or away from you!). An added way to entice opinions is to offer a discount, coupon or some other financially driven incentive for their assistance.
- If you distributed the postcard in different ways, find out if they were handed a postcard, received it in the mail, or picked it up at an event.
- Track how many came in, by measuring use of the discount code if you used one. If you’re distributing your postcards in multiple avenues use a different code for each one so you can see whats most successful.Example: Mail123 for mailings, Person123 for handouts, Event123 for postcards given at specific events.
- Always provide an email or phone number on the cards for contact information and ask for suggestions or comments as well.
- When prospects do come in talk to them! If there is a discount code you can ask them what drew them in. If it’s an online order send them a friendly email thanking them for their patronage and also asking them any questions. People like being asked what they think, feel or desire the vast majority of time it will be well worth the questions.
- Most of all; don’t be timid and don’t give up. Some postcard marketing campaigns (as with any marketing) just don’t work as planned. Some people just aren’t polite or friendly. Don’t let small failures or let downs distract you from the big picture and your successes.
This all boils down to communication. Keep your eye on the prize and always keep an open line of dialog with your customers and prospects. They will always tell you what they like or don’t like. Even if it’s not as direct as we would appreciate sometimes!
Like with any others posts if there are questions leave us a comment and we’ll be happy to discuss the subject further.
(Of course we do insist our Four of a Kind Postcards are the best for any postcard marketing campaign)
