Printing Every Door Direct Mailer Labels for Direct Mail.

When you’re sending out Every Door Direct Mailers the only “address” that needs to be on the mailer is a generic one of “Local Postal Customer.” Adding this address to your mailers can be done one of two ways: Print address labels and then adhere the address labels to the mailers or print the address directly onto the mailer.

The address doesn’t have to be on an address label. When you print your own mailers you can just include the address in the design. This will eliminate a second print job for the address labels as well as save you a ton of time by not having you peel and place each address label on to the mailers.

This is the “simplified address” you’ll want to include in your design for Retail:

Local
Postal Customer

That’s it! You can place it in the center of the mailer or on the right side of the mailer, preferably with a white or light color background.

For mailings over 5,000 mailers you’ll need to do EDDM Business. The address is a little more complicated.

If you’re mailing to residential and business you need to use:

*********ECRWSSEDDM****

Postal Customer
City, State 5-ZIP

For mailing to just residential use:

*********ECRWSSEDDM****

Residential Customer
City, State 5-ZIP

For mailing to PO Boxes use:

*********ECRWSSEDDM****

PO Box Holder
City, State 5-ZIP

Don’t Forget to Include…

Make sure to include the EDDM Retail Indicia on the same side as your address label. You can include these in your design as well so that you won’t have to print them off on seperate labels and then peel and place them onto each Every Door Direct Mailer.

No matter how much you have to say make sure there’s plenty of white space around the label and indicia so that it’s clear that your mailers are Every Door Direct Mailers and don’t need thirty two cent stamps.

Don’t forget that if you’re sending out over 5,000 mailers you’ll need to have a bulk mailing permit. Keep that close at hand while you fill out the paper work; you’ll need your permit number!
