Create Your Own Parking Permits with Door Hangers

Buying pre-printed permits can be costly, especially if you need to change your verbiage or design on a regular basis (new school year, different festival, etc.).
Buying blank door hangers in bulk and printing your own can significantly lower your permit costs. Here are some advantages of printing your own door hangers in bulk.

You can get 750 blank door hangers for less than 5 cents a piece when you buy sheets of door hangers with three hangers per sheet. On most printers it takes just a few cents to print a design on a door hanger. But even if it costs your printer 10 cents to print one door hanger, that’s still only about 15 cents you spent on that door hanger.
Buying blank door hangers in bulk and print them with a laser printer can get you the maximum savings.
When you print your own you can change the design easily without having to reorder a whole new set of pre-printed permits. When you buy blank door hangers and print your own you can print out as many as you need and leave the rest blank in case you need to make some special permits or you need to change your design.

Some Door Hanger Styles That Can Be Used for Parking Permits
There are several different styles of door hangers that you can use. Some door hangers have detachable cards or postcards for those who want to include a ticket or extra information for the person parking to take with them.
Door hangers with a circle hole (perfed or punched out) would be the easiest to use for parking permits since they can be easily attached to the rear view mirror since they have a slit that opens to the side. There are door hangers with a perfed X, but they would prove difficult to affix to a rear view mirror since they don’t have the slit that the circle hole door hangers do.
If you need to have a detachable ticket, you can use door hangers with a perfed card or postcard at the bottom. This can come in handy for festivals where you can sell parking and tickets at the same time. Write how many tickets the customer paid for on the postcard or card and have the customer remove the card from the bottom to take to the gate while leaving the rest of the hanger hanging on their rear view mirror.
For those who want larger door hangers, you can get them 2 per sheet instead of 3 per sheet.
