by Chelsea Camper | Last Updated June 27, 2017

During the Holiday Season many people make homemade jams and cookie mixes that they present in mason jars. Instead of going out to buy expensive pre-printed tags for your beautifully unique jams and mixes, why don’t you top off your jars with a homemade tag?

You Don’t Have to Be Artsy to Make Your Own Tags

You don’t need an art degree to create your own homemade tags. Here are the four things you’ll need to create your own homemade tags:

  1. A computer with Microsoft Word or Publisher
  2. A printer
  3. Blank tag paper
  4. Your imagination!

Design your tags on the computer in either Word or Publisher and then print them out. That’s it!

Use your imagination to come up with a cute design to create on your tags. There’s plenty of Clip Art you can use for inspiration in the Microsoft programs. You won’t need to do anything too fancy; just the fact that you designed and printed it makes it just as unique as your jams and mixes.

How Do I Get Started Printing My Own Tags?

Getting started printing your own may sound like a daunting task, but it’s really quite easy to get started. Here’s what you’ll need to do:

  1. Download the Getting Started Guide
  2. Choose the type of tags you want to use and download their template (you can download the templates straight from the product page)
  3. Design your tags in Word or Publisher
  4. Print them out
  5. Hang them on your beautiful mason jars with elastic tag loops

That’s all there is to it!

Should I Buy the Blank Tags in Bulk?

Yes! When you buy in bulk you can usually save a good chunk of money. If you could make one order of tags and then never have to get more gift tags for a year or two, you could save yourself a lot of time!

By buying blank tags in bulk you can print them up for any occasion, at any time, whenever you needed them. Birthdays, holidays, graduations, reunions, ect. Since you control what goes on the tags and you don’t have to print them all at once, the message is never stale and you have now boundaries as to what you can and can’t do with them.

Print your own homemade tags this holiday season to save time, money, and energy.
