Print Your Own License Plate Number (LPN) Barcode Labels

These License Plate Number (LPN) barcodes help make sure the package is packed with the correct items and shipped to the correct address.

What Are LPN Barcode Labels?
LPN Barcode Labels are exactly what they sound like: Peel out labels with LPN Barcodes printed onto them. These labels are affixed to a box at the beginning of the order fulfillment process. As the box goes through the fulfillment process it is scanned by pickers and packers to find out what items need to be packed in the box.
When the package reaches the end of the order fulfillment line the LPN Barcode can be scanned again to generate a shipping label. Once that shipping label has been printed and placed onto the package, the box is ready to be shipped!
How Do You Use LPN Barcode Labels?
LPN Barcode labels can be applied manually or automatically.
Manually employees would peel the label out of the label sheet and affix it to the box in the designated area. The LPN Barcode can be printed along side the shipping label or the LPN Barcode can generate the shipping label at the end of the fulfillment line.
If you were to apply the labels automatically, you could still use label sheets to do so. You would need to purchase a machine to automatically place the label in the designated area.
Whether applied manually or automatically, the first step after the label has been affixed to the pallet is to check to make sure that the barcode label is working. If the barcode isn’t working, a new one must be printed for that order. For packages that will be on a pallet, placing the label on the side that will be facing out is recommended. That way each package can be easily scanned and checked that it is on the correct pallet.

Printing your own LPN Barcode labels only requires a few things:
- Barcode printing software
- Printer
- Barcode scanner
- Barcode labels (roll labels or sheet labels)
