However, with the addition of all the other benefits from 8UP Postcards they’ll still save you more than single or 4UP postcards, so we’ll concentrate on talking about the 8UP Postcards in this post.
Postcard vs. Envelope Postage
A few months ago the USPS raised their postage prices for postcards and first class mail (envelopes included). It now costs $0.32 to mail a postcard and $0.45 to mail a first class letter. Despite these rate increases, companies are still using direct mail as an effective marketing campaign to reach their audience.
To mail 5,000 postcards would cost $1,600.00.
To mail 5,000 first class envelopes would cost $2,250.00.
Using postcards for direct mail instead of envelopes can save you $650.00 just in postage for direct mailers, utility companies, or anyone else used to sending out large amounts of envelopes to their audiences. Not to mention you won’t have to spend the time (or hire someone) to fold your letter and stuff the envelopes.
8UP Postcards and Postage
The difference between postage on a postcard and postage on a letter is $0.13. On a sheet of 8UP Postcards there are, obviously, 8 postcards, each saving you thirteen cents in postage. That means each sheet of 8UP Postcards you print to send out instead of envelopes are saving you $1.04 a sheet.
Every penny matters, especially when the post office needs to raise the postage prices in order to stay afloat financially. You may not have control over the postage budget you’re given or the cost of postage itself, but you can control how effectively you use your allotted postage budget.
