Preparing for the Halloween season already? Yep! October is only a few months away, after all.

Some of your customers are going to order their costumes a month or two in advance, but there will be more than one or two that will be ordering their costumes the Monday before Halloween (which is on a Wednesday this year)! And you know what? They’re going to expect their costume on their doorstep Wednesday morning if not Tuesday.

Make Costume Shipping Faster and More Accurate

While you might not be looking to do a large overhaul of your fulfillment process, you can add a little spark to help it run a little smoother. Instead of printing out your shipping label and packing list on separate pieces of paper then cutting out and taping the shipping label to the package, you can just use a label sheet with peel out shipping label built into it.

Some costumes fit in a strange way and some might look one color online but be a different color in person; it’s hard to tell since all monitors show colors a little differently. Or sometimes a little girl says she want’s to be a lady bug for Halloween then two days later she wants to be a cowgirl.

Returns are inevitable so it only makes sense to try to make it as easy as possible for the customer. The easier you make returns for the customer, the happier your customers will be.

Remember those label sheets we were just talking about? Well not only can they increase your fulfillment speed, but they also allow you to note your return policy and give instructions on how to return products. You can print your packing list on one side of the sheet and return instructions on the other side. It won’t cost you any extra paper, just one more pass through the printer (or you can get your return information pre-printed on the back!).

Add a Little Halloween Spice to Your Shipments

Since you can’t print shipping labels out on colored paper, you can print thank you cards out on bright orange paper to add a little flavor to the customer’s order.

You can thank your customers for their purchase and drive them back to your website, Facebook page, Twitter, or even your Pinterest page. If you can keep your customers engaged with your brand all throughout the year there’s a greater likelihood that they’ll come back to you for next Halloween.
