Plant nurseries are always full of bright, beautiful life and often strange new plants that most customers have never seen before. You can help enlighten your customers on what each plant is with a plant nursery label or tag.

There are many ways to go about informing your customers about your unique plants, from simple plant name labels to QR Codes linking to the plant’s information page on your website.

Here are 5 ways you can create plant nursery labels for your 5 ways to create plant nursery labelsunique plants.

  1. Name Labels. Printing the plant’s name (scientific and common) plus a few basic care points (needs direct sun, water once every other day, etc.) is a simple but effective way of helping your customers learn a little more about your plants. Stick the peel off label on the outside of the plant’s pot where it is easily visible.
  2. Weather resistant tags. Bushy plants that have leaves and branches that cover their pot might need something that doesn’t have to stick to anything. Try using weather resistant tags (so you don’t have to remove the tags when watering) to hang on your bushiest plants. Add their name, care points, and maybe even a QR Code that can link back to either your website’s price page or information page relating directly to the plant.
  3. Postcards in sleeves. Want to be able to display more information? You can print information on a postcard and secure it to the shelf in front of your plants within a plastic sleeve to keep it safe from excess water. With a postcard you could even add a small image of what the young plants will look like when they mature.
  4. Folded tent cards. Use note cards turn sideways for tent cards to display each plant’s information. You can fill out the plant’s information as if they were a guest at a high class dinner. A small picture and QR Code can also be added to your unique tent cards.
  5. Greeting cards. If you want to integrate informing your customers with your marketing strategy, consider creating a take-home greeting/thank you card for each plant. Send each customer home with a thank you card with a beautiful picture of the mature plant on the front and detailed care instructions inside, plus information on your store and how your customer can get in contact with you again.
